Pop-top roof and roof rack

This Defender 110 TD4 got an Alu-Cab Icarus pop-up roof for more space on the road. We adapted the existing Front Runner roof rack to the new roof, so the storage on top stays.

The build in detail

Room upwards

The Alu-Cab Icarus pop-up roof creates room upwards. Raised, it gives you standing height and a sleeping and living area; folded down, the Defender stays compact.

Room for gear

We adapted the existing Front Runner roof rack to fit the new pop-up roof, so the storage for gear and accessories stays.

So the roof opens easily

So the Icarus roof still opens easily and stays up despite the extra weight of the roof rack, we fitted reinforced gas struts (Alu-Cab 800N).
