From pickup to travel camper
We turned this Dodge RAM 1500 into a travel and camping vehicle. At its centre is the Alu-Cab ModCAP system, with a kitchen, water supply, parking heater and an interior with a Molle system.

The build in detail
Alu-Cab ModCAP hardtop
An Alu-Cab ModCAP Base 6.5FT with window sits on the load bed, combined with the Family roof including an integrated Alu-Cab awning and awning bracket. A matching fitting kit ensures an exact fit on the RAM.
Kitchen on the tailgate
The Alu-Cab ModCAP kitchen in the Deluxe version was fitted at the tailgate, ready to use on the road.
Water and power
A water tank fitted inside, with a matching adapter bracket and Molle plate, supplies water on the road. Power comes from a flexible WATTSTUNDE 240-watt solar panel on the roof that charges the power station directly.
Molle system and storage
Extensive Alu-Cab Molle panels were fitted inside and out, for order, quick access and flexible mounting of equipment instead of loose luggage.
Insect protection and heating
Mosquito nets for the side and rear doors keep insects out. A 750 parking heater integrated into the Alu-Cab hardtop keeps things warm on cool nights.
Spare wheel and electrics
Plus a universal Alu-Cab spare wheel carrier on the tailgate and LED interior lighting connected to the power station.
